Theory Course

THEORY COURSE
The Theory course is recommended for anyone wishing to obtain a category A or B driving license, as well as a category A1 or B1.

OBJECTIVES
The aim of this course is to provide you with all the knowledge you need to pass your theory test.

CONTENTS
The various themes of this course contain the main traffic lights and situations, all presented in pictorial form as in the test. If you register for this course, you’ll also have the opportunity to come into our school and practice the test for an unlimited time on our tablets free of charge, during our opening hours. One of our instructors can also be made available to help you with the tests. What’s more, one app with all the official exam questions is included in your theory course, so you can easily practice at home on your smartphone.

THEORETICAL TEST
To take the theory test, you need to register with the Office National de l’Automobile in Geneva. (OCV) The theory test lasts 50 minutes in Geneva The test consists of 50 questions based on the following categories:

1-Priority rules

2-Signalling lights and road signs

3-Situations presented as images

You can choose between 3 answers for the questions. You can give a maximum of two answers per question, and only one answer in the traffic lights and signs category.

To pass the test, you must not make more than 15 mistakes. Each incorrect answer or unchecked box equals at least one error.

Results are given directly after test completion.

CONDITIONS
To take the theory test in Geneva, you must have already completed the first-aid course and passed an eye test by an optician approved by the Geneva Motor Office (OCV). You must then have the optician’s certificate, the first-aid course and the driver’s license application form, all completed and signed and submitted to the Geneva Motor Office.
