When sitting the basic theory test for class A and B or sub categories A1 and B1, the driving license applicant will have to present the certificate proving that the first aid to the injured course has been completed.
The candidate shall prove that he/she has received the first aid course by producing a certificate from a driving school approved by the ‘OFROU’ (Federal Roads Office, or FEDRO). This certificate will only be issued to applicants who have followed the full course. It cannot be older than six years.
The first aid to the injured course covers:
a. the safety measures to take in case of an accident and how to contact the rescue services;
b. knowledge of the measures to be taken prior the intervention of the physician in order to maintain the physiological functions necessary for survival;
c. knowledge of the position in which to put the injured, artificial breathing for the injured who can no longer breathe, how to stop severe bleeding, and the basics of heart massage (CPR).**
The organization and content of the first aid courses, as well as the requirements imposed on instructors have to be approved by the ‘OFROU’(Federal Roads Office, or FEDRO). Summary The first aid course, also known as the ‘Samaritan course’, is the first step to obtaining your driving license!
